ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has rejected the bail plea of one Amanat Khan, accused of giving a bogus cheque to Pakistan Navy.
A 3-member bench of SC headed by Justice Saqib Nisar took up the case for hearing.
Earlier, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ha
d rejected the bail plea o
f the accused. Amanat had given a bogus cheque of Rs 62.7 million to Pakistan
Navy. The accused was to purchas
e land for Bahria Anchorage and had consequently obtained Rs 62.7 million from Pakistan Navy in connection with the purchase of land. In return, he had given a bogus cheque to t
he Pakistan
Navy. He neither purchased th
e land nor did he return the money.
